Spring is here and the weather is warming up nicely and means it is time to check the hives. We check the hives to see how survived over the winter months. We like to wait until the daytime temperatures have become stable and there is no frost or freeze warnings. The hives need to say a constant temperature and exposing the bees too much cooler temperatures can harm the hive.
Mr. BRV suited up to see how they were doing. He doesn’t normally suit up, however they are a bit more agitated when they haven’t been worked with since the temperatures dropped in the Fall. The neighbors near the hives are not so sure about being outside when Mr. BRV is checking them. [Read more…]
