Spring brings us cool mornings which is a great time for a yummy easy baked oatmeal for breakfast. Oatmeal is a wonderfully versatile and inexpensive food, but it makes cool spring morning’s even better. The farmer’s markets and the road side fruit and vegetable stands are beginning to fill up with berry offerings. This will allow you the opportunity to play with different tastes to complement your warm and taste oatmeal breakfast.

This recipe is from food.com and is so easy it will allow you to make adjustments and add a variety of fruits that will satisfy all of your cravings. Don’t be afraid to take a recipe and make it your own by adding your favorites and taking away ingredients. There are so many ingredients now days at our fingers tips making our recipe options endless.

Step out of the box with your next bowl of oatmeal and add fruits such as blueberries, black raspberries, red raspberries, blackberries, elderberries, strawberries, peaches, bananas, apples and any other fruit that you enjoy. Use fruit that is in season or if you have fruits that you preserved or frozen from last season. Jazz it up even more with nuts and seeds such as walnuts, pecans, macadamia, almonds, flax and sunflower seed. Want to go a bit further add in some coconut, pineapple, mango, papaya,honey, and agave for a more tropical taste. There are no limits with oatmeal and it makes for a great blank canvas to start your day with.
