A trip out this Saturday brought me to the Vintage Hendo market hosted by the Southern Appalachian Brewery, located in Hendersonville, North Carolina. The weather was a little concerning early in the day with clouds, but wait the clouds began to part, the sun popped out, and the adventure was on. Mr. BRV had to work so I drug my son along with me for a little junkin and an adventure to the Vintage Hendo.
Visit to the Bee Happy Vintage Market….
This Saturday was the Bee Happy Vintage Market in the Biltmore Village, located in Asheville, NC and the weather could not have been better with sunny blue skies. Mr. BRV and I decided to make a day of junkin and a stop off at the Bee Happy Vintage Market. This was a wonderful little market with about 25 vendors from many different areas such as Tennessee, South Carolina, and right at home here in North Carolina.
The host of the market was Bee Happy Wares & Whimsies and they had a very inviting booth with a little bit of everything for everyone. The vanity on right when you walk in just made me stop in my tracks…..it was a beauty. There were also aprons, pillows, and many other goodies to choose from. Lovin the burlap.
You just gotta love the logo…..it makes me smile! [Read more…]

Battle of Spray Paints
I have many long-awaited Spring projects to tackle this year (my list is growing by the day). One of them is to paint my Bistro set using either Rust-oleum Satin or Valspar black spray paint. Both of these outdoor paints can be found at Lowe’s. I picked up the Bistro set at a really good price years ago and the paint has continued to fade year after year. You know how it is, a fresh life back into the poor thing. However, another project always seems to jump ahead screaming for attention.
As you can tell there has been extreme neglect on the seat and back.
Thrift Store Wreath Makeover
Have you ever experienced one of those days while out looking for treasure, that you felt was a lost cause? Now your thinking how much time was wasted and now your going to go home empty-handed. You know what I mean, you have felt this same feeling of defeat.
Blah!!!
On my last treasure hunting stop of the morning, I hoped that I would find something that would save the day. I made my usual rounds in the store and wasn’t finding anything that really spoke to me. Yep, I was probably the one you heard mumbling about what a wasted day I was having.
But WAIT…. [Read more…]
Vintage Stool Makeover
Do you remember in February when I introduced you to my new makeover vintage stool project?
It was a little beaten and shabby, but was definitely a beauty in the making.
The rattan had dry rotted and was breaking in a few places and as you can see it was almost completely off of one side. I just knew that I could repair the seat without a doubt. A little confession….I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to replacing the stool seat. I however, do have a couple of people who I can bend their ears for some tips on the repair. New Life For a Vintage Stool….
Isn’t she a BEAUTY?
I recently picked up this great vintage stool that needs a little TLC.
The bones are in excellent condition; however the rattan seat…..not so much. She is definitely a keeper though. She will have a new seat and a fresh coat of paint and her glory days will be restored.
I will keep you posted on her progress.
Do you have a great find that you are bringing back to life?
