Yes………It is time to put the winter on hold for a bit and think a head to Spring.
I know there is more winter in store for some and a lot more for others.
However, one way to get my mind off of the snow, sleet, wind, and bitter temperatures is to receive a Spring seed catalog in the mail. I look forward to them every year and feel like a kid looking for toys at Christmas. There is an abundance of catalogs to choose from these days. These catalogs offer a range of seeds from traditional, heirloom, organic, open-pollinated, hybrid. Many of the seeds that are offered in the catalogs are not only from the United States, but from around the world.
How great is it that we can live in the United States and purchase seeds that originated in Spain, Peru, Germany and the Asia. The abundant variety of seeds offered in these catalogs can be the envy of any neighborhood.
Imagine……your neighbors wanting to know why you have those strange looking blue tomatoes, oddly shaped bright yellow peppers, or beans that are red and as long as shoe laces.
No matter which catalog you choose to purchase your seeds from do your homework. Make sure you are purchasing the seeds that fit your growing needs such as organic, heirloom, or hybrid for a more successful planting season.
Do you have a favorite catalog to purchase your Spring seeds from?
